SMISHING NOTICE
Beware of automated telephone calls and bogus text message alerts (a scam known as smishing) being sent to your cell phone that are supposedly from Pine River State Bank. The bogus messges are designed to get you to take action immediately by saying the bank account or debit card has been closed or deactivated.  A phony phone number is given for you to call to reactivate the account.  Once it is called, the scammers ask for card information or bank account information, pin numbers and social security numbers.
How to protect yourself:
*Never respond to an e-mail, phone call or text message that wants your personal financial information.  The Pine River State Bank has this information and will NEVER ask for it this way.
*If you receive an alert like this and want to check it out, call the Pine River State Bank directly or call the number on the the back of your debit card.
*Never click on any Web links provided in a text message.
*Delete the phony text message.
*If you have fallen for the scam, contact Pine River State Bank IMMEDIATELY.
